Ron Schöningh is a visual artist, living and working in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. He creates multilayered paintings, collages and objects using incompatible materials.
During creation this can be a tricky process because there is no complete control on how these materials interact. It’s a rather alchemistic approach, which results in works of art that partly create themselves. By carefully building layer upon layer the final artwork fits in the original idea or concept.
Inspiration comes from traveling through a broad variation of landscapes, searching for traces of human intervention.
